The Renukaswamy murder case has taken a critical turn as an additional charge sheet against prime accused actor Darshan and his associates was finalised and is set to be filed in court today. The document, exceeding 1,000 pages, is expected to intensify the prosecution’s case with compelling technical and forensic evidence.
The charge sheet reportedly incorporates over 20 pieces of evidence, including forensic reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory. According to sources, the findings will strengthen allegations against Darshan, further complicating his legal defence.
Among the most damning evidence is a series of photos recovered from witness Puneet’s mobile phone. These include an image allegedly showing Darshan at the crime scene, dressed in a blue T-shirt and jeans. Forensic experts have also retrieved previously deleted images, providing additional insights into the events surrounding the murder.
A total of eight images have been recovered, featuring Darshan and co-accused individuals such as Jagga, Anukumar, and Ravishankar. Some of the photos, reportedly taken after the crime, include shots in front of a Wrangler car linked to one of the accused.
Meanwhile, a single-judge bench led by Justice Vishwajit Shetty of the Karnataka High Court heard the regular bail pleas of Darshan, Pavitra Gowda, and six other accused on Thursday. The hearing was adjourned to November 26.
On November 19, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda announced that an appeal will be filed in the Supreme Court soon, challenging the interim bail granted to Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.
The 47-year-old actor was granted relief by the Karnataka High Court on October 30, allowing him to undergo spine surgery. He had been imprisoned for over four months before his release on medical grounds. Dayananda confirmed that the process of filing an appeal is underway, and the matter will be taken up at the earliest.
