    Description

PLEASE don't pay the invoice you'll get immediately from ebay.  It's only an estimate, and can be incorrect because it does not account for the final bid amount nor the item's destination.  Plainly put,  I can't ship a 0.00, five pound package from NJ to the West coast for .00, even though that's what might be on the eBay invoice.
I'll send an invoice as soon as possible, and it will begin with a Hello!  I hope you'll wait to hear from me...your patience is much appreciated!
    Up for bids is
    this
    vintage (
almost antique) Sweetums composition doll, made in the 1930s by Uneeda Doll Company of New York.  Touted as "the only drinking and wetting doll with a soft cuddly body", she goes to her new home in her original box.  She has her original bottle and wrist tag, which describes how to be a good mommy to Sweetums with instructions on her feeding and care.  Sweetums is in very good original condition, with peeling on her head, minor cracking at her shoulders and some on her face...all shown in my photos.  She has an open mouth (for bottle feeding) and sleepy eyes which open and close easily, depending on her position.  She measures about 11" long, has jointed arms and legs and while I believe her head turns, I haven't tried to move it. Don't know if the clothes are original, but they seem to be a perfect fit.  Her body looks to be made from oilcloth....maybe to protect against leaking when feeding her.  Her layette set is trimmed in blue and pink, and she wears a diaper held together with tiny gold safety pins.  I haven't removed it, but there is an 'exit' hole for when she wets.  The original box measures 5 1/4" by 4" by 12" and it's seen better days.  There are tears at the corners and lots of wear, but 99% of the graphics are still visible and it fits perfectly on the bottom.  Seen can be a patent date of 1936.  The rubber nipple on her original bottle is hardened with age, and I haven't tried to remove it from the bottle.  Please make sure to check all photos and read my description carefully, as I'm not an expert on dolls and am describing just what I see.  Good luck and thanks for looking!
Please take a minute to read how I run my auctions...
I ask that you DO NOT pay
the invoice you receive nanoseconds after the auction ends.  It's an automated request from eBay.  It
    DOES NOT
include insurance, delivery confirmation or the shipping discount that applies when labels are printed on-line.  If you want to pay exact shipping costs, please wait for my invoice, which is what the USPS charges me and includes all of the above.  I'll send it ASAP after an auction ends.  FREE local pick-up is always available in my auctions.
I sell mostly antique to vintage collectibles, so bidders should keep in mind that an item might have some age imperfections. I describe my items as accurately as possible, but I’m only human, and if I miss something major, please let me know before you post negative feedback.
Please remember that your bid is a binding contract to purchase.  It is your responsibility as a bidder to thoroughly read the auction listing and look at the photos---please DON'T rely only on an item's category or title for a complete description.  I do not refund for bidder's remorse.
Shipping is through the USPS and is for exact shipping costs.  I will always combine shipping costs whenever possible.
    WAIT FOR YOUR INVOICE
, which will include insurance and delivery confirmation.  If you pay before you've been invoiced, I CANNOT add insurance to your purchase unless you request me to do so.
PLEASE NOTE:  THE INSURANCE I PURCHASE FOR YOU INSURES YOUR ITEM ONLY TO THE ADDRESS ON YOUR EBAY INFORMATION.  IF YOU RE-SHIP THIS ITEM THROUGH A SECOND SHIPPING COMPANY, MY INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS and I am not responsible for any loss or damage.
    Even though I have a
    5 business day
window for shipping, that's the worst case scenario. I always ship sooner, and if I can't ship within 5 days, I'll let you know.
My auctions will indicate if an item is up for international bids, but I will not ship any item international if it’s over 3 pounds without first hearing from the bidder to make sure they're willing to pay the USPS's high shipping costs.
Please be sure to leave feedback after you receive your item---it lets me know things went off without a hitch, but
IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANY PART OF OUR TRANSACTION, PLEASE EMAIL ME SO IT CAN BE RESOLVED BEFORE YOU LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK
